Chemical Required: Wool fat, hard paraffin, white soft paraffin, cetostearyl alcohol.

Principle:-

Ointments are semi-solid preparations intended for external application to the skin or mucous membrane. They usually contain a drug or drugs that are dissolved dosed or suspended or emulsified as an antiseptic, or antifungal agent.

Calculations:-

Procedure:-

  1. Melt the hard paraffin and cetostearyl alcohol in a water bath.
  2. To this add wool fat and white soft paraffin.
  3. Stir until all ingredients are dissolved.
  4. Check the contents for foreign particles. Drain or drain if necessary.
  5. Stir the mixture thoroughly until it cools down.
  6. Pack in an ointment cup, label, and dispense.
