Admission Process

B pharmacy admission process 2024 is based on the entrance exam after the Class XII board exam, generally state-wise held entrance exams such named as West Bengal (WBJEE), Maharashtra (MHT-CET), Uttar Pradesh (UPSEE), Karnataka (KCET), Kerala (KEAM), Goa Common entrance test.

Students who have completed D. Pharm (Diploma in Pharmacy) Course in two years can be admitted to B. Pharm Colleges through lateral entry. They are direct admission in the second year of the B. Pharm course.

Earlier, especially in the B Pharmacy Course, conducted a separate exam based on three subjects Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. Recently there has been no separate exam done. Based on the engineering exam, students can be admitted to various colleges in West Bengal.

Eligibility Criteria

The b pharma course eligibility is students should have passed the class XII examination with Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English, and Biology. Only Science students are eligible, not arts and commerce students.

After passing the class XII exam, the qualified students have a chance to take an entrance exam. Then the basis of their rank, they can study b pharmacy details.

Examination Details

In b pharma course Study, the exam is held as final at the end of the semester, but before the final exams, two or four exams occur as named internal exams.

Sometimes the board decides they don’t give all the exams due to lack of time or any other critical situations. The board instructs the college authority to submit the PPT or assignment based on the respective theory.

The students who aren’t doing Class regularly are not eligible for final exams. It is mandatory that in theory classes as well as practical classes, the attendance percentage should be 80%.

The theory examination time is 3 hours, whereas the practical exams include a synopsis, practical theory with performance, and at last, viva voce.

The total number of internal exam conducted by the college are four. The four exams are mandatory for all students. But three examination marks are counted. In which examination did you get fewer marks among the four exams that wouldn’t be counted?

Students who fail the theory or practical exam of a subject will be allowed to take the next time exam. But students are promoted to the next semester. It will be very difficult for the student because extra one or more subjects study pressures more in your subjects.

The student who gets 60% marks or above on average/will be declared to have passed the first class. However, students who get 75% marks or above will be declared to have passed the examination with distinction.

Suppose the student passes all subjects he/she will be prompted next semester. After successfully clearing all the exams in whole over the semester of B. Pharm, he/she was granted a certificate by the examination authority approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI).

The Jobs as a Career

After completing the b pharma course, the student can get jobs primarily in private as well as Government. Government jobs are very rare, but private jobs are a lot in various reputed companies. Most of the students started their careers with private companies.

Maximum students choose their jobs in the company at the production level. Few numbers of students want to do jobs in Marketing because working time is less, but the risk may present. On average the salary is more in Marketing than in Production.
